 A press release for the book A Dance With The Devil popped into my inbox not too long ago with one of the most bizarre, scary and, yet, intriguing openings:
Are you aware that today one in every twenty-five Americans is a psychopath?
Um, no. Thanks for that chilling thought.
The book is actually author Barbara Bentley's memoir of her marriage to a man that tried to take everything from her -- her money, her sanity, and finally, her life. Spoiler Alert: Her husband is now in jail and Bentley gives motivational talks to domestic violence groups, women's groups and others. Fantastic, but according to your press release that leaves nearly 1.2 million psychopaths still out there.
